Queens Park Rangers Head Ready for Relegation Battle

Queens Park Rangers owner Tony Fernandes has admitted that his side’s season so far has ‘been nothing short of a disaster’ but is confident they can turn their fortunes round.

After only narrowly avoiding relegation from the Premier League last May, the club spent big in the summer, in a bid to ensure they didn’t find themselves in the same position this time around.

This saw the likes of Esteban Granero, Julio Cesar and Stephane Mbia arrive at Loftus Road but despite their obvious talent, they’re yet to stamp mark on the side and the Hoops are currently the only team in England without a league victory so far this term, with most soccer betting news writers saying relegation is a inevitability.

The run has left them rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table and despite Fernandes’ constant backing, it eventually cost former boss Mark Hughes his job.

Harry Redknapp was the man chosen to take over from the Welshman and having previously saved Portsmouth and West Ham from the drop on numerous occasions he certainly comes with pedigree.

However, the veteran coach may want to bring some of his own players in during the January transfer window, meaning the Malaysian owner will need to reopen his chequebook this winter. That has sent punters who bet on football into action, predicting who will arrive and who will leave the revolving door at Loftus Road.

The 48-year-old remains positive though and has promised the fans that everyone at the club will do whatever it takes to ensure their survival in the top flight.

He tweeted: "It's been nothing short of a disaster. It's not where we are. But boy we put so much effort into this. Good honest effort.

"Keep your spirits up. Laughing smiling and being positive helps. Won't leave any stone unturned to try fix this. Tough as it is. Hopefully santa gives us some early presents.''
