How to Play Backgammon Online

Once you download the game and complete the installation process, you will either find an icon in the desktop or you will need to start from start->Program.

Your turn is complete only when you are clicking the OK button.

If your move becomes illegal, the game itself will give you the caution message and disallow the move.

Remember, the gaming software is intelligent enough to catch you out in case you are not moving your checker as the number shown by the dice. Note that the checker can be moved forward only to a lower-numbered point.
There is another alternative restrictive way of moving your checkers.

Double-Click on any empty point and the nearest checker will be moved to that point, provided that move is legally allowed.

If you hit a blot then the opponent’s checker is automatically moved to the Bar as per the normal procedure of the game. The online game even takes care to ensure that your next turn may start only with the movement of the checker in the bar, if any.

As per the rules of the game, you can start bearing off only when you complete bringing all the checkers to your home board. Bearing off may be again done by the drag and drop method. A few sites offer you a special bear off button, which becomes enabled when and only when all your checkers are placed in the home board.
