He not only talks about his club British Isles Backgammon Association, but also discusses on the various facets of the game backgammon. Michael Crane leverages his experience of 20 years to be acknowledged as an expert for organizing and directing tournaments. He has presided over 300+ tournaments and around twenty thousand players during his tenure.

He is called the MSO’s Mr. Backgammon for his successful endeavor as a consultant of Mind Sports Olympiad for long. Michael organizes and directs the backgammon events each August on behalf of Mind Sports Olympiad. He is also the Backgammon Consultant to the Encarta Dictionary.
