I've noticed something after playing the penny gambling machines for way too long. I've watched the cycles and have seen things happen in repeition so many times that my sample of data is very large.
There are pay cycles that go through the machines. In your row of 5 penny machines 4/5 will hit a bonus within a 5 - 7 minute time period. Depending on how much you bet during this pay cycle, it determines how much it will pay out. Or the person before you bet, so be sure to look at the people's faces before they leave a machine. Are they mad? Then that machine has beat them to a pulp because at some point it becomes personal with the machine, and at another point it becomes ridculous to keep pumping money in. This machine is rype for a pay cycle.
Sometimes there will be 3 ---> 7 or 8 minute cycles where all the machines in the row will hit in the that time range, in an hour. Sometimes there will be zero in a two hour time period.
If someone is hitting good on the row of pennies, now is this time to keep hitting that button. Sometimes you have to change the rhythm of your bets and the amounts. Speaking specifically of Penny Machines, because that is where I've observed these occurances, sometimes waiting a varied amount of time will help. Or lots of people like to hit all the keys in succession then hit the start key. I've seen that work too.
Or letting your machine sit with a little cash in it while you wander around will help activate it. It does have a self regulating feature that makes sure it stay within that 92 - 98 percent range on any given day.
Changing the bet from 25 cents to 20 cents then up to 50 with an occasional 2 00 bet can really make the machine change it's losing programing as well, especially if you happen to bet 2 00 during a pay cycle.
I am going to give up gambling completely because the long and short of it, is that it's the people you meet and the experiences you have that make it fun, not being robbed of your money.
No matter what strategy's are used in the long run it is costing everyone money. Hopefully people can find better things to do with their time that they find interesting. I admire the people who have control. Poker with friends is fun.
You don't specify where you have observed this. But certainly in America, this isn't really true.
Machines in Vegas do not pay on a cycle, that's just how it seems. If one of them has say a 1000-1 chance of hitting a jackpot, this could happen once every 1000 spins, or it could literally happen four times in the space of four minutes. Random chance determines it, not some pre-programmed time limit.
A player could play for five minutes or 2 hours, and win or lose, but it does not affect the odds of the next player to use the machine.
