I live in the bible belt. So lots of people here think gambling is horrible. I am religious and all but I dont think gambling one time for my 21st birthday is that bad?? Everybody keeps saying stuff like "Im going to pray for you." And "You know that is sinful. I cant believe you did that" I mean isnt it wrong to judge people too?? I dont know how to respond to all these comments!! I dont see where it matters as long as me, my family and my close friends are okay with it?? Help!
It's OK as long as you don't loose money you need for other things. Now some would always say there are always other things. Personally I don't like gambling, but it's up to you what you do with your own life and money as long as it don't harm others.
You are totally right! That plain stupid. I do believe in god but I don't classify myself as a religious person. I think that as long as you know the difference between right and wrong in a logical way you are ok. That people were raise in that believe and they are just following what they learned but I bet if you try to dig deep and ask them why is that wrong they're not going to have a logical answer all they're going to say is because the bible says so, or thats the devil tempting you etc. Just think....is that a reasonable explanation to you? For me a reasonable explanation will be something like "your mom or grandpa had a gambling problem and I'm just afraid that you have it too" I'm not questioning your believes, I'm just saying that "the bible says so" is not an reasonable answer for me. Ask them if they can explain to you why is gambling bad but leaving the bible out for a couple of seconds to see what do they have to say.
These are some of the same people who elected mass-murderer George W. Bush to the White House, so why do you care what they think?
Why is gambling considered sinful by these people? Because it's fun?Don't they play bingo in churches? That's a form of gambling isn't it? Where does it say "Thou Shall Not Gamble" in the bible? Isn'r life a gamble?
Nothing irritates me more than someone telling me how to spend the money that I've earned. I pay taxes. I pay my bills. If I belonged to a church, and thankfully, I don't, I'd pay my tithe (something else that irritates me). If I were you I'd tell these people to mind their own business and pray for someone who needs it, like themselves.

Gambling is a form of entertainment and it's totally ok to go out and have fun when you want to. Gambling becomes a problem when you become addicted and you spend money you can't afford to lose.
As far as being a sinner, if anyone is a sinner its the people who tell you that you are sinning!! They are the sinners because they deprive others of thier passion and creativity to enjoy life! And that you can print!
