There is no where to get the money to start one.

Casinos cost billions to build and opperate

most are owned by companys and the richest people in the world you cant go to a bank and get a loan you have to go to the big bank or banks no average joe can open one.

but you coud try to open a poker room and all you do is take the rake but poker room wouldnt work in las vegas and a poker room would cost alot of money you would need staff and a security system in place. etc.

so the answet to your questions if you are serious is save your money up or win the mega millions or power ball about ten times each when the jackpot is in the 80-300 million range.

1000 million = billion and you need billions to open casino

I have been wondering the same thing myself. I recently found a small casino on the North side that is for sale. After looking at it I got excited about it. It has a grandfathered, unrestricted license which is a rare and wonderful thing. I talked to investors and almost all of them would not invest with me. I have 20 years working (on-and-off) in casino gaming and a Master's degree from a business college, but I haven't enough experience owning a business or as general manager of a casino.

After closer examination of that property I decided it was not a good investment. But I now have a taste for casino ownership, so I am working toward making myself a more credible investment partner. The next time I go looking for investors, I will be ready. Right now, I know that I am ready to run a small casino, but I do not look credible in the eyes of investors.

There are, at this time, several opportunities to break into casino ownership in Nevada, but the minimum realistic investment is $4 million. To get into a small-sized hotel casino in the Las Vegas area would cost at least $22 million.

Can you raise that kind of financing?

Once you have a small casino and are licensed, it is a matter of time before you are able to build or buy a major strip resort. A casino resort on the strip would cost billions of dollars.

You could alway just buy share in a casino.

The other problem ( aside from having billions of dollars) is the licening regulations. The liquoiur and gaming people are a pain in the ass to deal with
