I play with my cousin and he has a habit of calling his hand while we are still better. For example:
My cards A(hearts)A(Spades)
flop:
A(spades)King(spades)10(spades)
he bets I call with my 3 aces.
Next card A(diamonds) I have 4 aces now.
I check to slow play.
He claims to have a royal at this point and then raises it a lot.
At this point I tell him the rules I heard was that if you call your hand that your hand becomes void and you lose all chips. And I tell him calling a royal if fine as long as you actually don;t have the royal. We argue it is hs hosue so he takes the pot becuase I folded.
Is this a rule(callign your hand)
Help em out this happens a lot between the two of us.
I meant I have an A(clubs)A(Hearts) and the comunity is A(spades)A(diamonds) and the other cards to could be a royal.

first calling your hand is not illegal unless stated otherwise in house rules. Also u say u have 2 Aces of spades out there and if ur playing a legit game i dont think that would happen. and last but not least if he had the royal flush your probably playing a rigged game. Ive been playing for years probably about 3-4 thousand hands a week and have yet to come across that much of a bad beat. hell if u hit that hand on a bad beat jackpot table you could make about 200k
No the hand is NOT void. BUT... it is annoying. an annoying player could be banned if the house/host doesn't like him doing it.
Its just bad poker etiquette. He does it to annoy and tilt other players. there are bad etiquette players at every game (talking over hands, insulting people, showing cards, using action terms out of turn, etc, etc).
I personally don't like to play with bad etiquette players, but sometimes its EASY money because they expose themselves with those tactics. if they had a GREAT hand, they wouldn't tell u.
You can only win if you call and your hand is better. Dun matter if he says he house a royal and doesn't or vice versa. If you both play the better hand wins.
Just trying to get a rise out of you, that's poker baby!
