I know it is rainy season but from experienced vets did you get a lot of sun anyway? From 8th to 17th so right in the middle. How about people? Enough girls and night life to make a fun time?
If you are there for the beach, it should be ok. It would be quite sunny in the morning til about 10 AM, rain starts to pour in after that or in the afternoon.
Parties, well, they still do although less crowded and less fun as compared to March to May.
One good thing though is that in August, they offer "lean season cheap rates" everywhere.
