I have known several professional gamblers in my lifetime. One I knew in Bellflower, CA. called his trips to Vegas strictly business. That is what it was. He had a wife, house in the suburbs, kids, the whole nine yards. Gambling was his living.
Gambling is wrong because you are to put your faith in God to meet your needs not machines or man.
Gambling establishments are set up not to lose money, but rather make money, so it is just a stroke of luck that you would win.
People I know that has won up to $15,000, actually over time had that much and more into gambling before they ever won.
Gambling can become an expensive habit to some and cause them to lose everything they own, it can become like a drug habit to some.
If you have extra money to gamble, you could be helping someone less fortunate than you like with food, etc.
If you did this God would more than bless you for your needs and extra.
Why is it a sin to cheat other people out of their money while they are trying to cheat you out of yours? Because it doesn't benefit the world as a whole, like good honest labor.
