Made a bet with a girl I know who loves to tell guys how superior she is. The penalty for losing (it was a swim race) was that the winner would have the loser model swim suits at a store and would pick two for the loser to wear this summer when told to by the winner. So I lost and now she tells me we are going to a shop that sells girls bikinis and I will have to model several bottoms and then she will pick two out for me. I said that I assumed if I lost she would be picking out guy suits but she says there was no stipulation like that in the bet so she can pick out anything she wants. We agreed that we would seek opinions here and go with what the majority said in that I am right to assume she will pick out male suits or I will have to buy girls bikini bottoms. I am hoping people side with me because she now says if I lose this she will find some really skimpy bottoms for me as punishment for trying to back out on the bet. What is your opinion?
LOL - I think you should have worried about the terms of the penalty before you agreed to the bet. Sounds to me like you better invest in some new razors or better yet some hair remover. She is buying you swimwear and that and only that was the agreement.
All gambling bets even the ones done in a proper betting shop are not legally binding. They are a "gentle mans agreement" so your bet is unenforceable. BUT play the game. YOU LOST.
what a lame bet. you were going to lose either way, as women can wear mens or women's bottoms without embarassment.
I side with you, as clearly the only advantage you would possibly get from winning was from her wearing a female swimsuit, but she wants to embarass you by making you wear a female suit.
C'mon now, time for a character check. Making this or any other bet is essentially the same as shaking someones hand or giving your word isn't it? Got to cowboy up my friend. Aside from which, be honest. Wasn't the main reason for the bet in the first place to get the opportunity to see her in the skimpiest suit you could find?
I'm sure you would have made her wear a really skimpy bikini! Be good sport about it and let her pick out what she wants. After all, just ask her, she is superior to you!
The real question is, do you want a relationship with this girl or not. It sounds like you guys are friends and you might be interested in a little bit more. She won the bet fair and square, if you want her to respect you and still talk to you afterwards, you better pay up. How would you have felt if she lost and then refused to wear a swim suit that you picked out. If she is your friend, then it will be more about fun than about humiliation.
