How do you think, why do people gamble and spend so much money in casinos?
May be they try to relax?
Or may be they really want to earn something?
Why are so many people think that gambling is the answer to the all of their problems?
They like to think that they can win, even though they probably won't. Take Megamillions for example. You have about 1 in 10,000,000 chance at least to win per ticket. Some people when they start just for fun for just 5 minutes, just can't stop.
When I go to the casino, I leave my atm card in my car. I do not bring it in. I bring only a certain amount of money and that's it. Sometimes I win sometimes I loose and sometimes I come back with the same amount I went with. It's fun if you don't get carried away. One thing to keep in mind is that the casino almost always wins.
because they're STUPID, and almost get hypnotized by the flashing lights and $$$$$.
my father spent everything at casinos. he'd be down 24k and he'd win once 10k, and he never saw the fact that he LOST 14k. it's insane. but some people just can't put two and two together. they see the fact that they won, and don't add up ALL THE MONEY THEY LOST TO GET THERE!
i've also seen this with lotto tickets and the scratchers.
idk. i guess people just wanna win big, but really it's like a 1 in 12049810293810948million chance.
The reasons can be several, and obviously most it isn't for good reasons- desperation/ get-rich-quick, greed, addiction are the bad. Excitement, (at least in the case for poker) the're actually good at what they do, and the social component. That should pidgin it for the first three questions, the last is definitely about the greed/desperation factor. People think betting more will get them in front or back to even, but it is too simple- the house makes the rules and the rules are in the house's favor. It doesn't take a genius to figure out the house is going to win just off the Law of Large Numbers. Never underestimate the seduction of sin.
