When I go to a casino(approx 4x a year) I bring $500 to gamble with and I make 48k a year. Do you think thats too much? How much do you spend on gambling when you go to a casino?
I meant how much do you make yearly at your day job....not how much you make gambling.
I bring a 5K roll and gamble approximately 100 per hand starting out and the move to 200. That gives me 25 "plays" in case I go on a cold roll. Not sure what I make but up some years and down others.
Take whatever you can afford to lose. If you don't gamble often then you are doing the right thing by only taking $500, as this is a small amount, enough to play for a while and not much to worry about when it's all lost. Don't fall into the trap of believing there are people that gamble for a living, they are in the snake oil business. The odds are always in favour of the house and nothing you can do will change it apart from lessening those odds but they are still always in the houses favour, anyone that is a full -time gambler has money from other sources that they can afford to lose so they only count their wins. For instance if they lose $10000 in one night and the next night they come out $10000 in front they class that as a $10000 win, not a brakeing even, so if they do this over 6 days, one day winning and one day losing they will tell you they won $30000 but wont mention that they also lost $30000, the only winners in gambling are the casinos
Usually when I go to a casino which is once every couple of months I try to bring anywhere from $600. to 1000. In Sept I am going to Vegas, I will bring around $1500. I make around $35,000 a year.
