I'm trying to write and essy on gambling, i can't find much information from the sites i found. I have to present in front of my 10th grade high school class and i don't want to bore them for three minutes. Does anyone have a site i can use for info?
The only thing about winkipedia is anyone can put stuff on there so you don't know if it is true or not
Also, try looking on google for history of gambling. Be ready to wade through pages of online gambling sites though. I would recommend not clicking on anything that says something about the first $100 being free or sports books.
Edit: That is very true. If you find something there that you like, check it against other sites or books to check on the legitimacy. You may even take phrases you like from the wikipedia site and put it in quotation marks for a google search.
Example:
"Dead Man's Hand"
"Poker in the Wild West"
"Casting of Lots"
Put those in google to see different pages and opinions.
just type in your browser "history of gambling"
there are lots of websites - some a little too in depth (psychology wise) for 10th grade -
but believe the information is out there for you to pick from.
It also has - history of gambling in the US - you didn't specify where the history should start - so you will have to narrow down your site yourself.
