= From the way you phrase the question I am going to assume you want to gamble at low house odds and get good comps. If you are looking for the best facial massage I would assume that you would ask the question differently.
= With a $3-$5K budget for gambling I think you want a nice hotel, but one that will pay attention to your budget. Someone suggested El Cortez, but that is an old casino with one location. Boyd gaming is a 2.4 billion dollar company with 16 casinos around the country. If you build up credits you can gamble at one of their other locations.
= "Main Street" is a nice Boyd casino downtown with a Victorian them. This is the only casino with 20X odds at the craps table. With the $3-$5 budget you can afford to throw $100 with each "come out" roll of the dice. If you play the full 20X odds that means the house edge is only $1 for every $1000 gambled. Those are the best odds you'll get in a casino for your budget. In contrast, roulette is $1 for every $18 dollars gambled. If they comp you a room and some meals you are way ahead.
If you like golf than you should go to their Suncoast location (off strip).

There is only one casino in Vegas that offers higher odds than Main Street Casino. Casino Royal offers 100X odds, but it is a crappy little casino with only a couple of motel style rooms. They only offer the 100X odds on one table and it is always packed. In addition, $500 is a lot to put on a dice roll.
