Right now I own To Green Cheek Conues and I am looking to add to my flock...it is down to the following 3 choices.
Red Lory
Jardine
Black Head Caique
I know Lories need nectar and are loud, I know caiques are full of energy...IF YOU OWN OF OF THESE BIRDS TELL ME THE GOODS THE BAD AND UGLY AND WHY YOU LIKE THIS TYOE OF BIRD. I WAN THE ONE THAT WILL OVERALL THE BETTER PET.
OMG I never had one (wanted one desperatly though!) but I used to work in a pet store and we had a Caique and it was the most playful and loving bird ever!! So pretty, and very smart! They do kinda need a lot of quality time though, or they get loud and grouchy.
I'd get the Caique. I have seen and read that they are well tempered, friendly and sometimes even playful. If you want a bird that fits this description, this is the bird for you!
My mom owns a Jardine, and he is very quiet. He picked up some words really quickly, but he's not obnoxious about it. If you're looking for something to go with your green cheeks, which are also known as the "quiet conure," I would go with a Jardine.
